Meet Alan de la Costa

Hello, I am Alan de la Costa, the founder and lead photographer behind La Costa Photo, a destination wedding photography brand based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

For more than ten years I have specialised in documenting destination weddings, intimate celebrations, elopements and lifestyle sessions across Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, Punta Mita, San Pancho and Riviera Nayarit.

My path includes over a decade working alongside internationally recognised wedding photographers, among them Tom Moks, documenting weddings for couples travelling from the United States, Japan and Europe. That work let me photograph in a wide range of venues and cultures, and it shaped a storytelling approach built on real emotion rather than staged moments.

Today I work mostly with couples planning destination weddings in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. Many of them travel from the United States and Canada, and they are looking for a photographer who understands both the local wedding industry and what international couples expect.

My style combines natural light, documentary storytelling and elegant portraiture. Rather than over-posing, I look for genuine moments, real connection and the particular atmosphere of each wedding day. The goal is photographs that still feel true in thirty years.

I have photographed at some of the most sought-after venues in Mexico, including Teitiare Estate in Sayulita, Casa Karma in Puerto Vallarta, private villas in Punta Mita and beachfront resorts across Riviera Nayarit.

During the summer I am also available for weddings and engagement sessions in Venice, Italy.
